Cultivate Beauty 2

We bought a lawn mower and I think I'll kinda miss our fuzzy dandelions.

I'm keeping the fuzzy dandelion in the back though, you know the one wearing pink polka dots.

In other news...I have many faithful readers but few who post. Ceece is of course my most faithful poster, but sometimes she's my only one. Sooo, guess what! If you start posting then I'll enter you in a drawing for something handmade! Starting today, anytime you post I'll enter your name into a hat that I will periodically draw from and award you with a prize! I think this first drawing will be a purse so you better get posting!!!
I'll announce the winner next Monday, May 12 (Hey that's Carrie and JQ's anniversary)

My rules are this:
1. This month comment, on cultivating beauty, ie. what are you doing creatively to worship God
2. Make sure to put your name so I know who you are!

Here in the Lewis household I am currently finishing up finals to cultivate beauty in my mind but then I will be free to start working on my sewing skills again ( I have two unfinished blankets) and I have two unpainted canvases (plural?). We are also trying to buy a house in Germantown to cultivate beauty in a larger way!
Yay for prizes.. I hope I don't become a stalker because of the new motivation to post =)

Fun idea, Sarah! Plus I love everything you make, so I am getting myself in the running...
I have spent much time outside planting, digging, and pulling (vegetables, holes for new plants, and weeds). I have enjoyed being outside and working more this spring that any other spring...perhaps b/c my kids are getting older and I sleep at night?

Oooh....i want some of that free loveliness. This month, i hope to SLOW DOWN. I feel that all of my activities are ones that do cultivate beauty but it's not so pure, lovely, and mindful when the one trying to cultivate it is tired and run-down and not acting from The Source. So it's time to rest and get back in-touch with that Source. Lord help me.

Yes, I'm all about free stuff. But I have to say, when I got your email...I thought you were going to say you were pregnant! :)

I'm going to invite your mom to cultivate beauty with me by refurnshing my place! It looks so empty and sad right now with no furniture. So she'll/we'll have a blank canvas! :)

I don't really like computers AND I am so computer illiterate. I wasn't even sure HOW to comment--letting you all in on my ignorance. Have used the computer VERY little since leaving the work force 5+ years ago!! YIKES!! Nevertheless, I would love to be in on the drawing and am going to be baking alot for cultivate beauty for my neighbors and friends--bought a great cookie/dessert cookbook!

Sarah,

I'm glad I found your blog! (thanks to Facebook) And can I just that you have one of the cutest little girls ever! She is so photogenic! I think she takes after her mommy.

It kind of turns out that this past week (being the start of Cultivate Beauty Month) I have had a great desire to really turn around the way we eat. We have always eaten pretty healthy, but I really want to make sure we are doing our best to treat our bodies as a gift from God by taking care of them. I've been trying my hand at more homemade things instead of storebought (whole wheat bread, granola, etc.) and it has been really great. I have appreciated food a lot more. God is really good to give us tastebuds. Amen!

And I've enjoyed seeing the beauty of creation outside in the mornings as I've been trying to walk/jog in the mornings for a couple weeks now. It is such beautiful weather and the smells and the flowers. How can we do anything but be thankful and worshipful!

Ok, long comment. I am excited to frequent your blog in the future :)

wow Sarah! You know how to get people posting. We are cultivating beauty in Florida this week. Walking on the beach and reading about gardening. I want to plant some herbs when I get back next week.

What am I doing creatively to worship God? Simple. Staring at and adoring my daughter and the blessing she is to me. It's so much easier to do having lost one. God is better than we know.

Love ya girl!
